The #ProjectScouted team behind the camera – Nilufer Yucel

We lovingly call her “The Turk”, well, because she’s from Turkey. But Nilufer Yucel is much more than that. This beautiful, vibrant, and friendly girl is also an awesome photographer and having worked behind the scenes at last year’s Project capturing some of the images being shared across social media, this year she has come on board as one of the official photographers meaning that she will be shooting her own phase.

1.    What do you currently do?
I am a student currently furthering my studies in the field of business and at the same time I am working part-time at a brake-pad manufacturing factory.

2.    Having been a part of #ProjectScouted last year as a behind-the-scenes photographer and a guest judge, what do you love the most about the Project?
I really enjoyed meeting new people, making friends, and seeing all the ideas and different techniques that each photographer utilised for their phase.

3.    What were some of the best moments during the Project last year for you?
All the crazy things that happened behind the scenes that the public doesn’t always get to see, like all the hard work and all the strange things that the photographers had to do to get some of those amazing shots.

4.    How did you discover your passion for photography?
Well, my dad had an old camera that I used to play around with and I just started loving it.

5.    What do you love most about photographing people?
When a person is in front of a camera it gives them a chance to show who they really are and express themselves in a different light.

6.    Is there anyone that you dream of shooting?
It would definitely have to be Robert Downey Jr.
He just oozes charisma and he can effortlessly make anything he wears look good. He also has that carefree, I-don’t-care-what-anybody-thinks attitude.

7.    You have travelled quite a bit. Where is the one place that you have been to that you would encourage others to go to?
Even though I have been to many places I think I would still recommend a visit to Turkey as it is a very historically rich country. There are a lot of sights to see but no matter what you choose to see or do, it will leave you with unforgettable memories.

8.    Any tips for the #ProjectScouted girls that you are going to be shooting?
The girls should just be confident, be themselves and be their own competition. But most importantly they should just have fun.

9.    Are you willing to share any info about the phase you are shooting in the Project?
I am very excited to be a part of the Project, at the moment I’m playing around with many different ideas and can’t give a definitive answer at present.

Remember to check out the #ProjectScouted Instagram page for the latest info, images and updates.  And remember that all events and shoots are open to the public free of charge and we want to see you there! Nilufer being a relative newbie to the official photography team, we’re really excited to see her work with the #ProjectScouted ladies.
