The Duchess of Cambridge's enviable long
brunette waves have beaten Beyonce and Kim Kardashian's styled manes to be
named Britain's most wanted hairstyle.
Hairdressers take note, Kate Middleton has
beaten Beyonce and Kim Kardashian to be crowned queen of hair.
Most women want Kate's long glossy,
never-out-of-place brunette waves over Beyonce's always-changing do and Kim
Kardashian's honey-coloured, straightened mane.
A fifth (19 per cent) of the
women surveyed by promotionalcodes.org.uk picked the Duchess of Cambridge's
well groomed style but Beyonce came a close second with 16 per cent of the
vote.
One
respondent said: “Kate Middleton has beautiful hair. I’m sure she has her off
days but we never see her without a hair out of place. Her hair looks great
loose or in an elaborate up-do. I’d give anything to have hair like hers.
”Beyonce mixes up her style, performing
with wild blonde curls but appearing on the red carpet with smooth, straight
locks. The women who chose the Single Ladies singer's hair, pointed out her
hair's natural curl, versatility and movement. One of the women polled noted:
“Beyonce’s hair always looks good – whether tied up or left bouncing around her
shoulders. It always looks so healthy.”
Reality TV star Kim, who has recently
lightened her inky mane, was close behind with 15 per cent of the vote, with
the respondents commenting on how polished her 'do always appears. It seems
British tastes are changing, with blonde celebrities predominating in the
second half of the most-envied hair list. Even Holly Willoughby's bouncy pale
golden layers only clinched her fourth place.
And Jennifer Aniston, whose choppy layered
cut practically defined a decade, no longer inspires copy-cuts as she came in
at sixth with just nine per cent of the vote.
Kelly Brook's bum has been voted the best
in Britain but when it comes to her hair we're less keen on imitating her
elegant waves which are only the fifth most envied.
The Voice judge Kylie Minogue's new
shoulder-length look is the seventh most wanted hair and Abbey Clancy's
tumbling highlighted strands inspire less admiration than her Strictly dance
moves to bring her in at eighth.
Louise Martin, spokeswoman for
PromotionalCodes.org.uk, said: “There’s one thing all these women have in
common – and that’s great hair.
“They all have beautiful natural locks,
full of bounce, vitality and natural shine. Of course they have a team of
stylists at their disposal but you can’t take away the fact that their crowning
glory turns us green with envy.”
