My name on a Shirt

Hey there good people.

Quite impressed with my shirts I got done. Lee Folkard Photography now also worn.

I am busy trying to work on a newsletter for all who signed up for it. That should be coming soon.

Also I am hoping to update the website with some new pictures.

Later today I am covering a 2 year old's birthday party - should be interesting.

I have decided to start carrying my camera more often as I somehow lost the plot with regards to that for a while. There really is no point in not having it all the time, as you truly never know when that moment may happen.

This should reflect positively in my Project 365 - Link-> http://www.facebook.com/group.php?gid=282716443458. Resulting in more variety.

Below we have upcoming models Reece Williamson & Zoe Folkard modeling my shirts.

Being*

Interesting that we call ourselves human "beings," not "beens" or "becomings."

It's all about the power of the moment - it all happens so fast.
Great moments are captured at dazzling speeds.

1/125 of a second gives you great "exposure" on a sunny morning -

We measure in hours, days and minutes.

We live in fractions of seconds.

Being.

Photography is Me

Friday again, just got my S.A flags for my car. And have been playing Fifa World Cup on PS3 all week.
I will win with South Africa.

My upcoming plans:
This weekend I have a 21st shoot on Saturday night and a maternity shoot on Sunday.

Still have editing to do on previous projects as well as work on a newsletter which will be sent out to all who are on my mailing list.

How does one get on the mailing list?

Simply go to my site -> http://www.leefolkard.com/ and on the home page type in your email address.

In closing a picture from a shoot from the past week.

Friday :)

The weekend is upon us again.
The Fifa World Cup is that much closer.
For those that do not know - 11th June marks the start of the 19th Fifa World Cup.
This will be the first time that the tournament has been hosted by an African nation. This being: South Africa.
The tournament runs for a month - and like that - it is over.

I will be trying to get some memorable shots during this time. It's not very often that your country is chosen to host such an event.

I've had lots of editing to do this past week - But I believe I am running on schedule. Am hoping to add some new work to my website and make some minor changes.

Busy Busy Busy

I've been so busy of late.
Had an eventful weekend - but I may get to that in my next blog post.

What I wanted to discuss in this entry is online shopping.
The digital age is amazing. And I myself have purchased numerous things online.
Take 2; Kalahari.net - are two of my favourites.

I have used sacamera.co.za for camera equipment. It is cheaper than the retailers most of the time. Also a benefit is that it has stock and availability which most stores that you visit do not.
I have for a long time watched prices on ebay and seen the HUGE price differences.
So this leads me to my new discovery. Bid or Buy has been around for some time, but it was only recently that I read an article in a magazine that I bought describing them more in depth.
New and used items bought mostly locally from sellers within South Africa.
I signed up, browsed around and found something that really caught my eye.

A wide angle lens. Considerably cheaper than any other place. The seller, based in Johannesburg. I am based in Durban.

To cut things short, I placed my order and paid on Wednesday and recieved my new lens in the box on Friday! Turns out it was sent for delivery on Thursday but they couldn't find my address.

Amazing stuff. With the cost of so many products being so expensive in shops. Why are we so sceptical about going online.
I will definately be giving bid or buy a look every now and then and would highly recommend you not rule it out.

On a side note: Picture attached is a back and front of my new business cards.

The week ahead

Ok, well it's Monday again.
So far I have revamped my twitter page.
Am happy with the results; let me know what you think?

My to-do list for this coming week; Work on Pictures. Editing.
The month of May would appear at a glance to be a busy one - so I do not want a back-log to deal with.
